Fast Jack Beckman Returns to Epping with One Goal – Victory

This weekend, drag racing fans will see a familiar face back in action at the NHRA New England Nationals“Fast Jack” Beckman. At 58 years old, Beckman is once again behind the wheel of the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet SS, racing for a win at New England Dragway in Epping, New Hampshire.

Beckman is not new to success. He has won 37 Funny Car races in his career and even became NHRA World Champion in 2012. But this weekend’s race holds special meaning for him. It’s not just about winning – it’s about making a strong comeback, showing gratitude, and staying focused on the goal.

Chasing the Championship Again

Right now, Beckman is second in the points standings, just behind his teammate Austin Prock. The race in Epping is part of a larger championship series, and every round counts. Beckman knows that if he wants to be champion again, he must stay calm and drive smart.

“Keeping my emotions in check is important,” Beckman said. “I want to win, but I need to stay focused.”

His recent victory in Chicago gave him a boost in confidence. He even said it might have been the most satisfying win of his entire career. That momentum is now pushing him forward as he heads to Epping.

Fast Jack Beckman Returns a Special Connection to Epping

Beckman has not raced at New England Dragway since 2019, and he has never won the New England Nationals. But he’s excited to return. One of the main reasons is that his boss and NHRA legend, John Force, won the event last year in the same PEAK car that Beckman now drives.

“The last time the PEAK Chevy raced here, John Force drove it and took home the trophy,” Beckman said. “I’d love to do the same this year.”

He also enjoys the track itself and the fans who come to watch. “It feels like stepping into a time machine, going back 50 years,” he added. “The fans here are so friendly and passionate. It makes racing here special.”

A Comeback Story

Jack Beckman’s story is more than just racing. He is a cancer survivor and a U.S. Air Force veteran. After finishing third in the points during the 2020 COVID-shortened season, he stepped away from racing. For almost four years, he didn’t compete. Many thought his career was over.

But that changed in August of last year. John Force was hurt in a crash, and Beckman got the call to return. He came back strong, winning two races in the Countdown to the Championship and finishing second overall.

Now, in 2025, he has already added two more wins to his record. That makes 37 career victories in the Funny Car class – a huge achievement.

Ready for the Challenge

Fast Jack Beckman Returns On Saturday, Beckman will also race in the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty Challenge, a special part of the event. This extra race gives drivers a chance to earn more points and get extra experience before the main event on Sunday.

Beckman is ready. He’s motivated by his recent success, his fans, and the memory of his boss’s win last year.

“We’re on the hunt,” he said. “Not just for me, but for John, for PEAK, and for every fan who supports us.”

Final Thoughts

Jack Beckman’s journey is one of passion, strength, and second chances. From beating cancer to returning to the drag strip after years away, he has shown that true champions never give up.

As he races this weekend at the New England Nationals, fans everywhere will be cheering him on. Whether he takes home the trophy or not, Beckman has already proven that he belongs at the top.

This time, though, he’s hoping to leave Epping with a win – and maybe one step closer to another championship.
